qEEG-guided training of high-beta activity

Clinical comparison · 71 participants

What the study found

Brain maps identified excess 21–30 Hz activity in a study of 71 people with recurrent migraine. Forty-six chose neurofeedback targeting lower high-beta and increased 10 Hz activity; 25 continued medication. In the neurofeedback group, 54% reported becoming migraine-free and 39% reported a reduction in frequency greater than half.

Why it matters

The study illustrates how qEEG findings can guide the choice of brain regions and frequencies for individualized training.
