Working memory and recall

Randomized, sham-controlled study

What the study found

Wang and Hsieh randomized 32 younger and older adults to frontal-midline theta training or sham feedback. Older participants receiving neurofeedback improved working-memory performance. Resting EEG also changed after training.

Why it matters

The findings connect targeted brainwave training with measured changes in working memory.
