Brain injury, stress, and recovery

Controlled pre/post study · 60 participants

What the study found

Thirty people with traumatic brain injury received 20 Alpha/Theta sessions and 30 received usual care. Researchers studied both earlier and later recovery periods. The training group showed improvements in reported symptoms and perceived stress relative to usual care, with differences in serum cortisol also observed.

How this relates to Alpha/Theta training

The study connects Alpha/Theta training with stress regulation after brain injury. It included a broader traumatic-brain-injury population, so it should not be read as a concussion-only trial.
